I bought the low-end iMac 21.5" refurbished. I was seriously considering the iMac 27" with either the i5 or i7, but decided against it after reviewing my actual computer usage and the rate in which I upgrade. Why pay more for technology that will last 6 years when I am planning to upgrade in 3?

I had major problems with kernel panics, but it's been a great machine after a logic board replacement. No regrets whatsoever in getting the "low-end" iMac.

I have the 27" 2.66GHz i5 iMac. This poll should really include the 2.8GHz i7, though.

The poll is apparently based on the four listed systems Apple sells off the shelf (note no description difference between the two 21.5" models!) With the i7 being a BTO option on the i5, I checked the last choice for mine.

I picked up my i7 off the shelf. They've been selling them in stores for quite a while now.
