Strange black lines on my iMac's screen.

See the pictures. They look almost like ink but no ink has been near the screen. Tried cleaning the screen but with no luck. It lies on top of any open window. Any ideas? Spec of the iMac in my sig.

It looks very much like an image burned into the screen, especially given the rounded edges.

Does this continue on the right side of the display?
