I wrote a post a couple of months back about trying to convert our small business to Macs. It’s a tough sell given the expense of purchasing Macs compared to Dells and the anxiety in switching. I’m a Mac lover at home, but in the office there have been a few hurdles to overcome.
Thanks to the feedback I received from this forum, however, converting our office to Macs is looking more like a reality. There remains one stumbling block though: QuickBooks. I’ve read some user reviews online and it seems a fair amount of people have had trouble sharing their QuickBooks Pro 6.0 for Mac files with their Windows based accountants.
Of those who had problems, many first converted their QuickBooks files from Windows to QuickBooks Pro 6.0 for Mac. The trouble then arouse when their accountants converted them back to the Windows format.
I’ve read enough of these horror stories to make me nervous. At this point, I would just love to hear some positive feedback about the Mac version of QuickBooks. Does anyone routinely share their Mac QuickBooks files with a Windows version without any problems? Please tell me something good!
And on a side note, does Pro 6.0 for Mac feature the same reports as QuickBooks 2004?
Thanks everyone!
