What is the difference (if any) b/w the ipod+hp 40GB and ipod 40GB?

The "+ hp."

The difference is extremely minor, they're the same iPod on the inside.

The two ipods are the same except that the HP one is branded with HP on the back, and if you are a pc user, the customer service is a bit better, but they have now mac customer service.

it is by no means an HP iPod. HP is only a glorified reseller of Apple iPods.
