I don't want to steal you thread, but what could they possibly do that will limit functions of a mac and not a pc?

They are initiating a program called ResNet...its a custom built domain program for our campus network...no Mac version....They haven't started it yet, but already I am unable to access on campus printers because of some protocol issues...

I know for a fact that RecNet does work with os x. Whether or not your campus is allowing it is a different story. I'd try to talk to someone at you IT center or something. Maybe they can help you out. It would be better than having to use windows.

I already have questioned them on the matter...My IT dept. doesn't have extensive knowledge of OSX...believe me, I tried to avoid it, but there just isn't an easy way....I'm also a CS major, and everytime in programming class that I have a system file question/programming question, the teachers aren't exactly knowledgeable....its just too much junk to deal with....I still have a G5 1.6 desktop at home, so all Mac-ness is not lost...
I've asked around and questioned about it for over two weeks, and my mind is made up....thanks for trying to comfort me on it, but I've already came to terms with all of the issues at hand...
