I have 2009 Mac Pro. I have all my apps on a SSD connected to the 2nd OB. All the data is stored on 4x1TB drives and EVERYTHING is backed up using time machine.

I'm told by WD that new stocks of the RE4 2TB drives are coming soon.

I will replace the 4x1TB with 3x2TB for OSX and leave the 4th HDD for Bootcamp.

1) When I want to restore my Mac data from time machine, can I choose just the data I want (no need to restore the apps, as they are already on the SSD)

2) Once all the data is restored, will the apps and data behave? Will itunes, imovie, iphoto and all the other apps just "know" where everything they were once talking to is? Or will I get a box saying it can't find the file and would I like to search for it?

I understand there are probably other ways to do this other than using time machine... but that's what I'd prefer to use.
