Agreed, though I am wondering if I should get an antiglare film
I have one on my iPod touch though it does make the picture a little fuzzy, and the colors are definitely less vibrant so I am still debating putting one on my future iPad because that screen is so beautiful

That looks nice. I have never seen a screen protector sheet on any device that doesn't look dirty or bubbly or somehow not look or feel right. Every so often I think, I need to try a screen protector, then as soon as I see one in use or put one on I remember, I hate them!

That having been said, your installation looks really nice.

Awesome.

I bought the Grip Vue (clear) and the Apple Case for my 3G. Couldn't decide on which to purchase.

Do you find it difficult to type with the Grip Vue? That's really my only qualm and the only reason I won't return the Apple Case.

Zagg=crap
I bought one for my ipod touch once, opened it, drove back and returned it
first of all it uses some kind of adhesive, power support uses static cling
second of all it was glossy, sticky, and ugly and I couldn't run my finger across without it sticking, power support's film is very smooth and high quality

All personal preference. I like the friction and anti-glare that the Zagg shields provide. There is very little adhesive and it does not at all leave any residue when you take it off.

It comes with ONE only, not two.

It cuts down significantly on wiping all the oils from your screen and provides a great tactile feel without sticking. Ever swipe your finger on the bare screen only to have it catch like rubber on the road? Not any more with this. Silky smooth

I do not feel it takes away from the crispness of the screen in the slightest. I am very much a Glossy screen person but this product just works the way it should.

I bought a Power Support Anti-Glare Film for my iPhone 3GS, when I bought it back in December. I was really impressed w/it, and so ordered one for my iPad 3G. It is scheduled for delivery on Friday, hopefully w/my iPad 3G. ;)

For some reason, the local Apple Store hasn't got them in stock yet for the iPads.

I've never really liked the anti-glare protectors--always seemed to give that fuzzy look to the screen and made the colors less vibrant. I'm interested that you say this one doesn't do that (given that you're a glossy screen kind of guy also). So I'm considering giving it a try.

I agree with the OP. PowerSupport makes the best screen protectors. Not only because of the ease of install/removal, they also make the screen feel better to the touch (my fingers glide better on the protector then they do on the raw glass).

I purchased the Crystal Film version similar to the one I had on my iPod Touch, which I loved. I'm not a big fan of anti-glare filters as they tend to dull the image slightly.

Here is the link to order either the Anti-Glare or Crystal version:

The Belkin Grip Vue is my favorite case, BUT here is my gripe: you can't plug your headphones into the headphone jack!! The case is little too thick in that area.. I usually use bluetooth headphones, but for anyone else this might be a minor annoyance! Oh, and where can I find that sweet wallpaper with the aluminum mac thingy??

I agree about the anti-glare film. This works well and was easy to apply. There is only a negligible change in the screen appearance.

I also used the Belkin Grip Vue, but changed to the Apple case after a few hours. I ended up preferring the front cover and the ability to have the stand. Also the Apple case feels MUCH softer when resting the iPad on the body when reading. The Belkin case was uncomfortable after a while.

I remember the one they put out for the MBP some time ago dramatically changing the clarity of the text on my display so much so that I quickly removed it. I suspect I'll want to keep the one on my iPad but in the past i've always used their "clear" versions on my iPhone and i've seen a friends anti-glare one on his iphone and IMHO it adds a lot of grain to the display.

First of all make sure your screen is cleaned with a microfiber or cloth right before you put on the screen protector. I'm pretty sure it will come with a white sticker that covers the whole screen and that's for the second before you get ready to instal, just apply the sticker and remove it - it's to makes sure no lint and small hairs are left on the screen. then just start from the bottom and press a little when laying down the rest of the screen protector with the same hand your holding the top non applied part of the screen protector - i hope you know what i mean lol

The EASIEST way to put this on is start from the bottom and line up the HOME button so it makes a perfect circle around it peel the backing down about 1/4 of the way as you go along and keep it slightly flexed and no bubbles will get in. The rest is gravy after aligning that Home button hole!

You and the OP are 90% of the way there. What you need to complete the job is a Griffin Elan Passport Folio. See, it has these four corner straps and it allows you to stick the iPad with its Belkin Grip Vue still attached inside it. This way, you get an executive look at the office and an easy-to-remove solution if the kids want to get their paws on it. All without having to peel the Grip Vue off for even a second.

Is your sig a parody of something or are you truly that much of a self-absorbed and materialistic braggart???

I'm trying to get the hang of this forum before I post any threads. So the rule is that every time someone posts something helpful or informative, we make fun of them for reasons that are completely unrelated to the topic? I think I'll find another iPad forum.

I think I'm going back to this setup. Anyone found a good solution for typing with it in your lap (stand)?

to the OP, where did you buy your belkin grip vue sleeve? did you order online or were you able to purchase it at a retail store? i ordered power support's anti-glare film, which should arrive tomorrow, and purchased an apple case. but coming across your post, i might also get the belkin grip vue as an alternate but would prefer if i can get this at a retail store instead of online. thanks for the info!

I wouldn't mind getting a chance to look at both side by side.

I'm not the OP but I have a Grip Vue too and love it. I got mine from the Apple store but as you know they don't carry them anymore. You can also find them on amazon, although I believe the the clear one has been discontinued. Here's a link for the purple one:

thanks flipangle for your response. that's too bad that apple store do not carry the belkin grip vue anymore. does that hold true for all apple stores nationwide? do you know why they stopped carrying them? but i might still check our apple store and see if they have any left.

aduteau, thanks for the tip at best buy. i'll check our local best buy out.

to those who own the belkin grip vue, what material is it made of? i know some silicone/gel cases are lint-magnets. is this made of a similar material and attracts lints/dusts big time?

thanks!

They probably stopped making them because they turn a disgusting shade of yellow.

"Perfect" ... yeah right.

I believe it's made out of stuff called TPU. It is not as soft as silicone. It is grippy but does not really collect lint like silicone. I do agree with the poster above that the clear one is not a good option since it does tend to yellow in the long run.

probably going to get the Belkin case as something to help protect from using around the house.

Was wondering if anyone has any recommendations of a case to put iPad + Belkin in when going out and about that could be used for typing too. Was thinking of getting a Yoobao but having to keep swapping cases around could become a pain.

This is exactly the combination I'm looking for. So far I have not found a portfolio case (according to research I've seen here) that will hold an iPad with a Belkin case already on it. I would be very interested in something like this. And if I've missed the post by all means correct me :D

dont want to change subject of thread much, but ive decided to go for the following setup.

Power Support Anti Glare and Belkin Grip Vue (after seeing this thread)

then ordered MoviePegs so i can stand the iPad for movies and typing (probably try shave the pegs down so it will give the iPad WITH the Belkin on.

then a sleeve, possibly the Belkin Pleat Sleve so i can put the iPad with Grip Vue in, and also the MoviePegs in the side pocket.

Just an FYI, I stopped in at a Fry's today out here in So Cal, and they had tons of the clear and black versions of the Grip Vue. Grabbed a clear one along with the BookArc for the iPad

Got my iPad last week and gas the belkin grip vue to put straight on it (black not clear), loved that case. Finally got my power support screen protector today and love it.

So glad I found this thread while researching before getting my iPad. It really is a perfect combo.

Added a belkin sleeve for transport and have movie pegs on order for viewing

I was looking for the perfect solution for my iPad and I think I have nailed it

Have NO fear if you are looking for a nice, nonslip grip case for your iPad and a better tactile anti glare film. Power Support makes the best film, bar non for your iPhone and iPad now!

Installation of the film took me 2 minutes, dust free, bubble free and str8!

See for yourself Beautiful!
