As a sample though in '05. Well the G4 chips have dried up. The only G4's we know about that are faster then the 7447A is all prototypes and won't be shipped intill mid next year. Ok, back on track the 7448 is single core. The MPX bus is still external. IMO, the G5 pbook chances of coming in January just went higher.

G5s in january is not that far fetched but im still skeptical just because it was announced doesnt mean it has to be adopted immediatly (protypes and such)

freescale's website claims only "greater than 1.5 Ghz"

This concerns me: "Separate System Controller, 200MHz bus" as the bus speed is nice but there is still no direct memory interface. It will also cause the naysayers to point their fingers and laugh. It sounds like a slightly changed G4. Bus speed and clock speed could be increased, and the AltiVec unit handles out-of-order instructions better. No floating point enhancements still and, considering that the G4 is at the bottom, that would be a better use of space than AltiVec enhancements since fewer applications use AltiVec.
