Do I still need to update iMac 27" SMC and EFI FW?

Hello everyone, :)

I've just received my iMac 27" i7 yesterday. It's week 17.

Last night I did some Automatic updates (included OSX 10.6.3) and when I checked software updates today there is SMC update on the list, but NO EFI Firmware update.

So I have a few questions;


1. Does this mean I don't need to update EFI FW? Or I need/should to do it manually?

2. Does SMC update important to all user? If it's important, should I wait until they fix the issue? *

3. And which update should I install first?


* I've read that some people having problem with SMC update, Fans running high even after finished updating process. Sounds scary to me.

BTW - I got EFI FW upgraded already. But still not sure about SMC.:(
