Hi everyone....

Answer my poll question...

In your opinion what Apple Cinema Display monitor is the overall best one made so far?? (resolution, design, overall quality, brightness, LCD screen, etc.)?

(HD=High Definition)

A. Older 23 inch Apple Cinema HD Display (clear plastic translucent frame)

B. Older 20 inch Apple Cinema HD Display (clear plastic translucent frame)

C. Newer 20 inch Apple Cinema Display (brushed aluminum frame)

D. Newer 23 inch Apple Cinema HD Display (brushed aluminum frame)

Just type A, B, C, or D in your response and add any short notes if you have time.... I did not include the high end 30 inch in my poll as most people can't afford that anyway. I have included a photo of the older Apple Cinema Display (below) so you know which one I am talking about.

The new and old 20" sport the same resolution (1680x1050), why do you mark one up as HD and not the other?

The new 20 inch display is not HD from what I hear

HD is defined by resolution, if they're both the same resolution then they're either both NOT HD, or both ARE HD.

D, but A & B are design classics.

d. except for the reported pink tinge of course.

I agree with D.

Note that the reported pink tinge is apparently caused by the fact that the lamps are directly behind the screen, vs. at the top and/or bottom. Since you're looking, essentially, right at the lamps, it causes a slight pinkish tinge (that can be eliminated through monitor calibration).

wasn't there a 22" HD at one point ... ?

let me add to the pointlessness: D gets my vote

How about a new poll:

Who DOESN'T think D?

or maybe which one are you using? Because really I would have to vote for F: 30" cinema display

wasn't there a 22" HD at one point ... ?Yup! 1600x1024. The new (and old) 20" displays have a higher res than that though!

Overall I think the older 23 inch display is nicer. I have both the new and the old and I think the older 23 inch is made of better quality, looks better on a desk, etc.

I think if you were to put the old 23 next to the new 23 on a desk most people would want the old one if they didn't know whicjh one was old and which one was new. Just a thought....

I took 2 of my friends in a store that know nothing about computers and they pointed towards the old 23 inch display when I asked them which one looked nicer.
