I have this strange 'problem' in Firefox 1.0PR. It happens quite often, and is fixed by clearing the cache (using the Web Developer toolbar), quitting and restarting it.
When it happens, the image placeholders (before they're loaded), are replaced with a red dot, like this:

(when they should be like the bottom example)

Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this more permanently?
 
I think there is an option to turn placeholders off totally.. check the firefox faq or search for it on google.
