Anyone want to start a recent album recommendations thread? I'm really into the new Prodigy CD this week, Always Outnumbered, Never Outgunned (http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewAlbum?playlistId=21819724). I highly recommend it. It's hard to believe its mostly Reason 2.5 too. The Libertines (http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewAlbum?playlistId=20882863) have also been getting a lot of play in my car and on the iPod.

Heh, yeah, the new Prodigy is fairly cool. Has... sorta a 70's disco vibe to it in places - as if Liam wanted to do as much as he could with one or two synths, then laying over some silky vocals. Nice, but not the Prodigy I was expecting (as on old-school fan!)
Actually I'm getting sick of my music collection. I haven't got anything new since said album a month or so back... musicnonstop.co.uk (http://www.musicnonstop.co.uk) will probably be getting lots of my money soon.

The new Prodigy album is okay. Not as good as I had hoped, but I haven't heard anything beyond the 6th track. Maybe its amazing on the 2nd half with Liam Gallagher on the last song!! ;)

I need to buy Brian Wilson's Smile very very soon. Its delayed until for the 3-4 stores nearby in Australia, but its already out in other countries. Actually, I heard it was released 2 days ago, and so the next morning, I woke up and rushed down to the store when the store first opened, quickly asked for the new album, and was told of the delay. :(

So I bought Scribe's "The Crusader" instead. Yeah, sort of a weird CD to buy when I actually wanted a Brian Wilson CD. :o

@yuc7zhd2: Do you mean that we should start a CD review thread, filled with only reviews of recent albums we bought? That would be a good idea, but if we could post reviews in their own threads, that would be better.

my criteria for a good album is one that flows well from beginning to end with no throwaway or filler tracks...thats a rarity these days. i want a musical journey, something that makes me sit back and just listen to an artists vision...

Zero 7's "When it Falls" is the last CD i've bought that passes the test. it's fairly mellow but not muzak.

i too tried to pick up "smile" only to be told it wasn't in stock yet. i'm hitting one of the big chains( shudder..) today to see if i can find it. i've heard nothing but raves about it.
