help!!!!!..........heres the situation my ext. hardrive hangs...rolling beachball.....ran techtool cant fix volume structure but...when i check for files it sees the files is there a way i can transfer files using terminal to another hardrive or using another app. to restore the hardrive without reformating? thanx in advance!!! 😕

Use Carbon Copy Cloner to create a copy of the external drive. Then format/fix eternal and use CCC to restore that copy.
