Well i bought it from a friend rather cheap and i get it home and turn it on and i get this error

ht@o,f2000000/pci@9/k2-sata-root@c/k2-sata@0/disk@0;3/boot/vm linux: unknown or corrupt file system

What does this mean? I am completely new to macs and i dont quite understand it other than the word sata, disk, boot, linux, and unknown or corrupt file system.

Is there somethin i need to reset?

Strange I suggest you reinstall Mac osx if it's now your Mac.

It may be a remnant of a VM that was removed before you got the system, and not verified that it runs correctly (system's looking for files that are missing during the boot process, and stalls).

Did you get the original disks or a newer copy of OS X?

I ask, as it would likely be a good idea to just go ahead and do a clean install (clean and easy, though it may not be the shortest time wise).
