View Full Version : Jailbroken iPod Touch 2G Recognizing USB Cord, but Not Charging

So my Jailbroken 2G iPod Touch's battery died today. Not a big problem, because it's rechargable!

But... This time as I try to charge my iPod, I plug it in, it goes to the Apple logo, then it brightens, like normal. Then in about 3 seconds of it brightening, it goes blank.

I have tried my iPod dock, 2 different cords on my PC laptop, the same 2 cords on my Mac Mini, all to give the same result. So the iPod recognizes that it's plugged in, but it doesn't charge. I double checked my pins, all are good. Shot some air in there to clear the dust, to no avail. Now I can't clear my Jailbreak, because the battery is dead and I cannot SSH nor iPhone Browser into it.

Is there anything that I can do to get it fixed or back to Apple without them knowing its jailbroken?

Thanks in advance,
Tek

EDIT: 1) I tried the cords with my moms iPod Touch, so its not the dock, cords or computers. 2) I have left it plugged into my Mac Mini for approx. an hour. The bottom left corner has heated up, like it usually does when its charging. So I can assume that it could possibly be charging, but failing at boot up.

EDIT 2: I got it into Recovery Mode. Then it must be the boot up. I'm going to restore and see if that works.

EDIT 3: Restore worked. Mod you can delete the thread.
