Texting on iPad?

Is txting something that can be done with a jailbreak app? Do you even think that you would use it for MMS? I think I would use it all the time because I'm always surfing the web on my ipad and txting with my iPhone. If you could have a txt conversation that was always on the screen. My 3G has a phone number so this seems like something that could be done.

What do you think? Has it been done already and I'm just late? Thanks

I have used the Google Voice JB app (GV Mobile) to text on my iPhone 3G via the JB app and there are many texting apps in the App Store that are designed for the iPod touch. I don't see why any of those wouldn't work on the iPad, but I haven't tried any of them myself.
