Just looked at the Apple US Store (http://www.apple.com/store/) and they claim on the front page to ship ipod mini's in 1-3 days. Is this true? Has anyone ordered a mini recently and got it so fast? Just curious. I thought they hadn't improved in shipping them, but is it possible that they got another fab already producing them? Or has Toshiba ramped up their hard drive lines again?

Its Hitachi, and yes, this has been for a while. All the stores now have them.

Yes this news is somewhat old. It seems that supply has finally met demand - or that demand has finally met supply... ;)

Oh well, I've been in the dark on this one then. I don't live in the US so I guess that's one reason I haven't heard of this "people getting their minis on time".

Oh yes, Toshiba for normal iPod hard drives.
