Live broadcasting has been made possible by new free software created by Apple called “Shareware” that allows for the live broadcast of news.
Apple is very interested in seeing their new software (shareware) become the standard for this type of broadcast and may be linking to the site from their website, www.apple.com.

Think the Maui Weekly might be smoking something on this one, an app called 'Shareware'?!! I for one can't find anything of Apple's website.

We'll know by Thursday if this is legit or not. I'd really like this as I am dumping the cable TV and just have cable internet.

I just realized that the Thursday is the 7th. :o
The article quotes the broadcast as being on Thursday the 6th. I'm guessing this means someone's full of BS.

Shareware- an interesting name, Apple could trademark (but it is the term given to pad-for software that is not freeware or commercial software, and if trademarked, there'd have to be a new term invented for that).

I think they probably mean QuickTime Broadcaster (http://www.apple.com/quicktime/products/broadcaster/) and simply got the names messed up.

That would make more sense!

Maybe the software is shareware and they're just badly mistaken.
