HELP! VPN and RDC Problem

Hi all,

I'm getting inconsistent connection(depending on modem used) from from my mac book pro to my work computer (Windows XP).

I'm using a USB mobile broadband modem from AT&T.

I can get the vpn to connect in pptp, it says connected.

but when i open remote desktop and put my work machines ip to log in
it doesn't connect i get the "the client could not connect to the remote computer".

If I use my home wifi I can connect via VPN and RDC all fine, however I need to be able to use the USB modem.
