We have a need to transmit from one location to our server over a VPN. Basically doing an MP3 broadcast of a live event, using NiceCast to transmit to QTSS on our server.
This works fine over the internet, but we have a need to do this over a VPN connection (too long to explain). It works for a bit, anywhere from a few seconds to several minutes, but then I get a "failed to login" error. This happens whether I'm using QTSS on the server, or NiceCasts builtin icecast server, same error message. Seems to work, actually is working (I can tune in and listen) but then it says failure to login.
Is there something about doing this over a VPN specifically that would cause this? Could it be dropping and needing to reauthenticate? There is no other indication that there is any trouble with the connection. Time timer on the VPN keeps ticking.
