Since I was unable to complete a successful trade (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=90694) for my RAM, I decided to go ahead and order myself another chip. Since that has left me with the extra Apple RAM, I've decided to go ahead and sell it here on MacRumors. The RAM will work in the iMac G5, the PowerMac G5 (must be installed in pairs), and any PC that accepts DDR400 DIMMs.
My Apple DIMM is DDR400/PC3200, 512MB, made by Micron with a CAS latency of 3, and has little memory chips on both sides. As it has been working great in my iMac for two weeks, and successfully passed both the quick and extended tests performed by the Apple Hardware Test CD, I can guarantee that it will not be dead on arrival. If it is, you can return it for a full refund (you'll need to cover return shipping), and I will deal with the insurance claim with the USPS. I can make no promises about whether or not the chip will get your iMac G5's memory bus to run at 128 bits, as there have been too many conflicting reports on what exactly will get the RAM to run as "matched."
The RAM I ordered is expected to arrive by the end of business on Tuesday. Since I don't really want to bother opening my iMac more than once, I plan on pulling the Apple chip out on Tuesday evening and can ship it as early as Wednesday.
I'm looking for offers on the Apple RAM, and the person making the best offer as of Tuesday evening will get the Apple DIMM. I've actually already received an offer of $100, so please don't offer me anything less than that. Payment can be made using PayPal, or by US Postal Money Order only, and I will only ship in the United States.
Please private message me or email me with any questions, or to make me an offer.
