Imac 15 lines through centre of screen

Hi, I have just turned my imac on and and notice barcode like lines running through the centre of the screen from one side to another. It's visible with all wallpapers apart from the black ones and it's visible on web pages in the same place. Does anyone know what this is?

I believe it's an LCD issue, rather than the graphics card or logic board, although I'm not quite sure. It was a common problem with older iMacs - my iMac G5 has three of them and counting. It's unfortunate to see that it affects the newer iMacs as well. I just live with mine since it has been out of warranty for several years.

Bring it into an authorized service provider (the Apple warranty is a year, correct?) and they should sort it out.
