Ok...I literally just installed some Mac updates on my new PB. The updates were : 10.3.5, the iPod August updater, and the Airport one.

It installed did the little disk optimizer then asked to shut down or restart. I chose restart. Well, now it's got the little spinning color wheel going for the last 10 minutes. I can move it around with the mouse so it's not frozen. Should it take this long to restart?
 
Normally, I should never take that long.

Try holding the down the shift key after you hear the start up chime.

Try resetting the P-RAM by holding down the command+option+p+r on boot up.

Once you do get it to boot, repair the permissions.
