I bought a iMac 3 years ago thinking man it would be nice to use it as a HTPC and soon found out Steve didn't want me to. I have been playing with the iPad and thinking about this again. I need help setting up.

Here are my thoughts.

Imac currently is running a Lambda Audio interface with monitor speakers.

I will use the TOS/Headphone as optical audio out and DVi/hdmi as the video out, into the receiver.

Then use plex as my interface. with a big hardrive

I am hoping to use a iPad remote to control plex over the network?

I will have to switch the audio manually when I leave the room so as to play in the home theater room.
