Changing owner's name

How does one change the existing name of an Itouch to something else?

Okay; and what does that do. I don't like the term restore. I don't want to change it back to it's original state. I just would like to change it's identifying name.
This used to be my wife's Itouch and I named it after her. For the life of me; I can't remember how I did that. I bought her a new Iphone and I took ownership of the Itouch. I now would like to name the Itouch after me and name her Ipone after her.

Plug it into iTunes.

Click on the name of the iPod (left).

Type in the name you want... Done.
