I run a third party FTP server software on an old Mac G4 tower running Tiger. To do this I need the OS FTP sharing disabled. Ok, no problem. Easy to do in System Prefs. However, upon EVERY restart/reboot the Tiger FTP sharing re-enables itself, meaning my preferred FTP server unable to start up.

This is driving me insane. Is there not a way to permanently disable the FTP (at least until I choose to re-activate it)??? Seems it should just work this way in the first place and perhaps some other service is re-enabling it upon start-up??

THANKS IN ADVANCE!
