Powerbook G4 HD failure!

Hardware: Titanium Powerbook G4 400MHz
Original HD: Toshiba 10GB 4200RPM

My system froze (10.3.2) and after restarting it couldn't find the HD anymore. I ran the OSX installer and recovery CD's, but nothing, so I decided to buy a new HD (Toshiba 40GB/5400RPM).

I have replaced the HD and still nothing. It finds the external firewire HD during OSX installation, but not the internal one.

Any ideas on what could be happening?

Did you try using the disk utility on the Mac OS X disk? You have to initilize the drive before you can install onto it.
