Are there any online sellers that match Apple's education price. I ask because I could save a lot of money if I find one that I don't have to pay tax on.

NO!
pay tax and tax your edu discount or don't pay tax and no discount. Thats the only way it is and has ever been. EdesignUK should make an FAQ about this ...If you wonder why please do a search, there has been a million people look for this same loophole.

i think there's this perception that apple's education "prices" are some kind of a guideline apple sets to sell Macs at a discount... (sort of like the prices apple insists on all the resellers to use.)
this isn't the case. edu discount is a specific benefit to educators provided by apple as a courtesy...
as far as i know, there are no retailers offering similar discounts to educators.

Do you live anywhere near NH? I am asking because I used to go the Apple Store in the Rockingham Park Mall in Salem, NH. That way I got the student discount, no tax, and no shipping to boot. Now I have to pay full price but I still go there for tax free and S&H free goodness! :D

As an unofficial policy, we here at MacOutfitters do our best to match them. Apple is making it hard though, and Jam and Cram killed us, but that uglyness is behind us now.

No one in NH has to pay sales tax because NH does not have a sales tax.

iMac 20 inch EDU price @ Apple Store online= 1799 (100 bucks off)
iMac 20 inch regular price @ Amazon=1894-100 Mail in Rebate=1794.99
31.39 bucks for shipping
still a saving, and no tax.
Oregon doesn't have sales tax either.
Of course, I am not sure if there are any Apple Stores in Oregon.

There is an apple store in Beaverton, but if you know someone who lives in oregon, then you can have it shipped there if you are planning on making a trip there soon..

I bet it's unofficial. Apple usually gives 10% or a few points more off. When I left the reseller industry in the late 90's, we would have killed to make 10-12 points selling a box. I don't see how you can match these prices unless you're selling other items and services, especially services.

Not every sale is education. Like I said, apple isn't making it easy.
