Hey everyone,

So I had installed a boot camp version of Windows. I was using it for a while mostly because I wanted to run Windows only application, but switching between the 2 OS's was getting annoying so now I use VMware and run Windows directly... anyway...

I have removed the Windows partition from my iMac, but now, any time I restart or boot up my mac, it always goes to a black screen with a flashing input symbol, that looks a lot like a DOS prompt waiting for command.

Unless, I hold the alt key during start up (like I had to do when I was running boot camp) it wont load OSX on its own. I have to manually select it every time.

Basically it looks like my Mac thinks there is still a partition for Windows that its trying to boot. Any ideas?

In System Preferences->Startup Disk choose the OSX drive.

as a heads up you have that option as well from Windows if you ever decide to place it on there again, you must tell it what you want to boot by as default.
