Upgrading HDD in 27" iMac

Strange question, but does anyone know if I took an iMac 27" to an Apple retail store - would the techies swap out the hard disk with one I supplied?

The reason I ask is that I want to use a WDRE4 2TB (as its quiet and has better value than the £200 BTO option offered by Apple) (and I would get to have the 1TB as a spare).

There's a problem with the temperature sensor in the new iMacs, it won't be fully compatible with your new drive and thus will make the computer noisy as hell.

I'm still pissed at Apple for this.

Yeah, they will but they'll charge for it. As Heilage said, there may be issues though
