i wonder what sort of support the war would have gotten had that been given as the reason.

I wonder if they came out and said this to knock a big hole in Kerry's arguments about Iraq - leaving him scrambling for something to critisize tomorrow night in the debate?

Well, the reason kept changing anyway. I suppose if there had been a solid reason in the first place, there wouldn't have been as much of a resistance now. Now it just seems like they are reaching for justification. The whole attack first, ask questions later, principal that always works so well. :rolleyes:

It does work in the movies, I guess. Sometimes.
