I have a G5 that developed a fault where half the screen is grey . It does this
on starting up and stays this way , i have searched for similar problems in the hope of finding a fix.
My eyes feel like there bleeding from hours of starring at screen and reading text to no avail.
I am of limited funds so a send away for repairs is probably going to be beyond my means. But am willing to try a home fix if possible.
ANY help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Sounds like failed GPU. Try SMC and PRAM reset

Thanks for the reply Hellhammer, no luck with the Pram and smc reset.
When computer comes out of sleep mode the "dead" side of the screen flickers intermittently and now has bands of colours running down...makes a change from grey :)

I don't have the disk as computer was a gift (family member upgraded) . Will have to do some more research. It seems this a a common problem with these
models ( ebays a wash with them), it's a shame because i love my Mac.
Once again thanks for your time and help and... Hello Finland !
