Has anyone successfully connected an ipad to a pocket projector and got it to work?

Depending on the projector. As long as you have the connector for the video it works. I use a optoma pico pk 102 with the 30in video connector.

If you do connect it to a pocket projector you're going to need an app that works with the external display like Expedition - VGA out browser. It can display a browser, docs, ppt, pdf and more.

Yes - many do - I own this one -

PK 101 - from Optoma - stumbled across it at my local Apple Store - and wow - when it is pitch black (I mean it - must be dark) - it looks fantastic! - works great with Netflix, AirVideo, TwitPad, Videos.app as well as Keynote (if you are presenting in a VERY dark room) - but it is a great little projector that turns a dorm room wall into a huge monitor.

A wonderful device if you know what to expect out of it - but it comes with an iPad cable that hooks up easily to it - ability to play audio out of Bluetooth or wired speakers while using projector - check out my podcast - iPad Possibilities Podcast - I discuss it on many of my episodes as well as some other cool possibilities the iPad has brought us.

I used an AAXA P2 (http://aaxatech.com/products/p2_pico_projector.htm) with their iPhone adapter cable and it works just fine with an iPad. It's much brighter than the first-gen pocket projectors like the Optoma PK10X series and the remote control is particularly useful for doing small group presentations.
