Can anyone name this tune?

Okay, here's a tough one. I really like this song that I've been hearing at work, but It is noisy there, so I can't make out the lyrics. I have heard it every few days on a more contemporary satellite radio station. All that I know is that it has an Irish/Scottish sound to it, I think with bagpipes too. Toward the end of the song, everyone starts chanting na na na na na na na na, na-na na na, na-na na na along woth the tune. It ultimately ends with everyone whistling the same tune. The song kind of reminds me of the usual picture of an Irish pub, with people dancing around tables, arm in arm, with a beer in hand singing this song. I know it's really vague, but can anyone please help me out?

Ha ha! Good thought, but not it. I wish I had a clip of it that you could listen to, because it would be much easier that way. As of right now, however, I can only describe it the best I can.

It's "Centerfold" by the J. Geils Band. It was a big hit in '82.

You're welcome. Don't be so hard on yourself -- I think your description was damned good. "Na na na na" and ending with whistling... I knew what it was immediately. I'm pretty sure anyone who knows the song would've gotten it just as easily.

They were playing that old song ha ha? I was gonna suggest it might have been Flogging Molly, an awesome Irish punk band.

Now that I know how old that song is, I really can't believe they were playing it on the same satellite station with much newer songs like My Immortal- Evanescence, The Reason- Hoobastank, Soak Up the Sun- Sheryl Crow, and Fly- Hilary Duff. It has to be the oldest song that I've heard on that station, because I recognize almost all of the other songs they play.
