macbook pro goes so slow and wont open progams

i stupidly knocked my 15" macbook pro off the table last night and to start with it would not work at all but now it wil go on to the desk top eventua;lly after lots of thinking , but wont do much after that , so still kinda work but need to get it up to full speed again any ideas would be greatly appretiated

This is the Mac Pro forum not the MacBook Pro forum, so you're in the wrong place. But you may very well have damaged the hard drive, and it's attempting to read through the bad sectors as it starts. Save your data off of it immediately, then run some drive tests to see if that's the problem. If so, a new hard drive is inexpensive to install yourself (if you know how), or you can of course have Apple do it.
