Bluetooth Pairing

Anyone have an idea why my mbp and ipod touch 3rd gen can pair with bluetooth but can't be connected. both have bluetooth on and are both "discoverable" and the mbp says its connected but the ipod says not connected

It will find most bluetooth devices but will only connect with compatible headsets and even then with limited functionality. The software needed on the touch just isn't there unless you jailbreak and use something like iBluetooth.
