Hello mac community!

I am thinking of mirroring an external monitor for my ibook 1ghz 12". (bought in may 04 if that matters) using this patch i found online:

http://rutemoeller.com/mp/ibook/ibook_e.html

it seems to support most monitors...

so i am looking for a decent, inexpensive (less then $300-$400) 17" flat panel monitor. it will be used mostly for autocad and simple photoshop/illustrator work. won't be too much a stickler for perfection...

any recommendations? what should i avoid???

any cheapo will do , i think ibook can only do 1024 x 768 ? how old is your ibook as will invalidate your apple care/warranty so if it goes tits up thats it your on your own .
i am using a 15" sony TFT sdm-hs53 which is ok for web browsing and iphoto and thats ok

Just to be clear, what you're talking about is not mirroring (which is what's supported by PowerMacs and PowerBooks but not iBooks, iMacs, and eMacs). You're talking about using dual displays to extend your desktop.
