Someone on CL wants to know the serial number before he can make an offer for my used 3gs.

Only if you also provide your SSN, credit card information and home address...

Personally, I wouldn't do it. 🙂

I got the same question from a person on craigslist,i said i dont think so.Gotta be some kinda scam

What could they possibly do with that number that could hurt you? They likely want to run it through Apples website, and verify it has warranty.
