Ordered 27inch iMac yesterday and I just saw the buyer's guide advising to wait, upgrade coming soon. I remember last year when they announced the new iMacs around this time, people who bought theirs within 4 weeks of purchase were allowed to send in old model for newer ones? Is that right?? If I get stuck with an older model right before newer model comes out, aww man, I'll be bummed

The iMac is still quite new you will not have to worry about that.

Now if you were looking into a mac mini or macpro that might be a different story.

What's your estimated shipping time/date?

Someone mentioned on another thread that they had ordered an iMac on June 1st and that the Apple has yet to ship or charge their credit card... And also that customer service said that there is a hold on all iMac orders:

It doesn't appear that there is a hold. The store currently says that iMacs ship within 24 hours. As soon as there is an update I'm buying.

Why would apple update the iMac when it has not updated most of its desktop line. The mac pro and the mac mini will get updated first. I am sick and tired of reading these kind of post. Seriously anyone with a common sense would realize that any company trying to make a dollar would focus on continuing to update their entire product line throughout the year and not focus on one product. I hope you enjoy your new iMac and I am jealous of you.

Don't play the waiting game. The minor spec bump is still a couple of months away. Anyone thinking the iMac line would actually be updated at WWDC is just not paying attention.

subscribed just to see what kind of update Apple will make in less than a year on the iMac

I ordered on the 3rd and the estimated ship date is between the 8th and 11th, I haven't had confirmation of it being shipped yet, I ordered the apple remote as well and that has shipped and will be here on or before the 8th. Hmm, interesting . I'm calling customer service in the morning.

I will be pissed, they will definitely get an earfull from me. Spending 2700$ then finding out there's a newer product soon after won't settle well with me..........

It sounds like you ordered the i7. At this point, Apple doesn't even have any new chips they could put in it if they wanted to. The next iMac will be only a small spec bump and is likely a few months away. Enjoy your machine, it is amazing.

That's the best thing I could've heard, thanks for the reassurance!!:apple:
