Hey guys!
So i have an iPod 5th gen 30GB and i am wanting to start putting music on it again.
Is there a way so i can put music on the iPod but then delete it from my computer, and then next time i want to add music to it again it keeps the music on the iPod already and just adds the new songs i want?

When in itunes go to your ipod and Enable Disk mode/ manually manage music.

I'd recommend keeping an offline backup of the songs you transfer, though. Otherwise, if something happens to your iPod that forces a restore, your collection will be hosed.

Harddrive is cheap. Not worth your time.

But if you want you can set it to "manually organize music"

What happens if someone steals your device? You need backup.

You really, really, really don't want to do that. Your iPod is not a safe place for your music. Someone picks it up, plugs it into their laptop, and by mistake presses the sync button -> your music is gone, forever. Or worse, someone picks it up, you never see it again -> your music is gone, forever. Or your iPod goes into the washing machine -> your music is gone, forever. Alternatively, you'll post in two months time "how do I get the music from my iPod onto my Mac".

Your music belongs in the iTunes Library on your Mac, plus a backup copy on your Time Machine backup drive. If you don't have space on your hard drive, you'll get help here how to replace it with a bigger one.

The above quotes are sage advice, OP. Get a decent-sized external drive, and point the iTunes library location to it, if you don't want music clogging your boot drive. Keeping music on your iPod only is Not A Good Idea.
