Wanted to announce the release of Privacy for Facebook, an app for the iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad that helps users take control of the information they share using Facebook.
As a tech-savvy user who makes a habit of checking and updating privacy settings, Facebook's privacy issues didn't worry me until I noticed that my own mother, a recent Facebook immigrant, was, without her knowledge, exposing her entire profile to the public. Several pictures of home-knit socks were compromised.
I hope you can check out the app. I am looking to foster an attitude where everybody takes responsibility for controlling their private information on sites such as Facebook. Would love your feedback!
