The 17" MBP uses an 85W charger and the MBA uses a 45W charger. Can I use the 85W MBP charger safely with the MBA?

The reason I ask is I have a 17" MBP now and want to get a MBA also. I have multiple 85W chargers in various offices I do business at and would like to use the MBA with these also.

It will work, but it is inconvenient because the MBA uses a right angle mag connector, and the MBP uses a straight mag connector.

You will need to either prop up one end of your MBA, or hang it off the end of the table in order for the 85W connector to have enough clearance.

It was valid 3 years ago. Whole unibody models have right angled ones.
