Ipod Touch Doesn't turn on at all

I purchased an ipod touch 8g from a friend who said it worked fine but she hadn't used it in a really long time cause she had a older 97 computer, but i've tried charging it and plugging it into my computer but it won't turn on at all. Tried holding down the home/power keys and whatnot. Just won't work. What do i do?!

try to keep it plugged in for an hour then try to turn it on. if it doesn't work you will have to take it to the apple store. or find a more trustworthy friend.

That or you can sell it on ebay, is it still under warranty?
