Word X & Text Smoothing

I recently updated Office with the SR1 update, and ever since Word’s text smoothing has been acting strange-- text often disappears when scrolling through pages, but reappears page is highlighted. Is there anyway to turn this text smoothing off? Thanks

It sounds as though they're using the advanced display code from Internet Exploder. Even before text smoothing and 10.1.5, I have been greeted with blank pages.
