Hi all,

I have a GT120 and PC ATI 4870 in my Mac Pro. It boots into Windows no problem and I can switch between cards & displays.

However, if I try to boot up in Mac OSX, monitor hooked up to GT120, it kernel panics on boot and I have to reset.

I have the GT120 in the lower PCI-E slot and the 4870 in the upper (if looking at Mac Pro stood up).

Has anyone come across this before?

Thanks in advance :)

No telling without knowing what the KP output is. If you can post the output, you might get some answers.

The screen goes dark and it brings up that "You need to turn off your computer" notification. Is there a way to get underneath that and see what's really happening?

It's nothing special. See 4870/4890 flashing threads, some PC cards are causing KP in OS X.
Flash your 4870 and you'll be able to use it in OS X and Win with no probs.

hold down command-v at boot. It will be visible then.
