Black as yer soul, I'd rather die than give you control:cool:

NIN made industrial alternative what it is today. That whole Pretty Hate Machine album is one of the baddest in my whole collection, imo.

Amazing track!

Takes me back to my late teens in 1989!!!

I just wish Trent had stuck with PHM's sound for an album longer!

I just wish Trent had stuck with PHM's sound for an album longer! As much as I love PHM, I'd love to hear Trent revisit it and rebuild some of those songs w/ his current sound/feel. Head Like a Hole and Terrible Lie sounded fantastic on the last few tours.

It kinda did that last year with The Downward Spiral. He remixed/remastered the whole album. You probably won't see anything PHM related anytime soon, as he is having trouble working out legal matters since that album was released on TVT records before he went on to his own label. Same reason why he hasn't released Closure on DVD yet.

I would love to see PHM remixed or remastered with his current studio setup.

I'd love to replace my copy of Closer with a DVD copy.
It doesn't help his accountant (or was it manager) nicked al his money!!

I loved how PHM was super heavy without dripping with guitars!

When Downward Spiral came out, I played it a little too much.

Bought Broken, listened a little too much.

Bought PHM, listened a little too much.

Heard "head like a hole" on a rock radio, and thought the CD had just come out! I was ignorant in my youth.

The "Head Like a Hole" IMPORT single, is well worth a few bux if you can find it.

Multiple remixes of the Head like a Hole, Terrible Lie AND Down In It. (http://www.amazon.com/Head-Like-Nine-Inch-Nails/dp/B000009H89/ref=cm_lm_fullview_prod_3/104-9399262-8258355?ie=UTF8)

Bad. Ass. Tune. Though With Teeth has got to be his worst album ever, The man is insanely creative and knows how to rock.

I agree. I was kinda disappointed with Halo 19 ( With Teeth )

But i have it in there anyways otherwise my collection would not be complete ;)

I enjoy listening to all the different stages of the band, its always fun to put all the albums on shuffle and see what era you land on :D

One of my favorite songs to dance too back in my college days at the alternative clubs.

My roommate was managing a local record store the day PHM came out. He brought PHM and played it for all of us that night. Blew me away.

Very soon after, Peter Murphy came to town and NIN was opening. Awesome. I bought (and still have) a t-shirt. Was cool being one of the only people in town to know who they were.

They really took the Industrial scene in new directions. I loved Front 242, but realized it was hard for a lot of people to get into.

I didn't even buy it because previous to that Trent circulated the fact that NIN was dead and he would be spending time creating new different music. Like a dog to vomit he went back to a tired concept and I think he needs to move on. just mho.:p

Yep.

I'm gonna be That Guy.

While NIN's original is classic, I'll direct you all to DEVO's cover of HLAH, which can be found on the soundtrack of the Jackie Chan masterpiece "Supercop."

It will revolutionize your very outlook on humanity.

I have every NIN record. The Down In It 6 track EP is by far the finest NIN release.
