The physical Apple Store and the online Apple Store use the same servers....soooo Yes, if one doesn't work, the other won't either.
The app is a bigger epic fail than the browser option, because with the app you're forced to sit there watching the screen due to the lack of multitasking. And then after 5 minutes of it just spinning, the app just dies back to your app screen.
if you know that then why don't you know that the app would use the same server also?
