2007 15" MBP: what defects to look for?

I posted this in the new MPB thread, but figured a separate threat would be better.

I'm in the process of purchasing a second hand MPB (2007 model, 2.33Ghz C2D) for my on-the-go work, does anyone have any recommendations what defects to look for when I'm picking it up?

The battery and its charger have been mentioned, but what else? Are there any common defects in these models?

You might want to look out for the keyboard/trackpad problem which was due to a simple bent wire. May seem like a small issue but the solution could easily set you back $300+ in repairs (topcase + keyboard replacement).

Thanks! That is exactly the kind of defects I was talking about. We all know about scratches, but those are obvious... 🙂

Make sure the screen doesn't have an image burned in

Wow, that one looks like a biggie! I'll be sure to check the screen bezel. Would be a bit of a downer though..
