Free .cda converter

My friend sent me some songs through e-mail (thanks to Yahoo's 10MB attatchments), but they are all in .cda format.
Are there anyfree resources which allow me to change the filetype to .mp3/AAC?

.cda used to just be a link to a CD audio track. They were only a few bytes in size, and were unplayable without the CD in the drive. The files you have received are obviously different. Try renaming them to .wav or .aiff and see whether QuickTime Player will open them.
