iPod Cross Platform problem

Hi all,

I recently used my mates 4g iPod which he has been using with his PC on my Mac. It worked perfectly and iTunes allowed me to copy music to it etc etc.

However the other day my other mate got his new 40gb 4G iPod and we formatted it on a mate's PC and copied some music. Bringing it over here to my mac was a different story. The iPod was not recognised by iTunes and only a generic looking removable HD icon appeared in the finder.

Whats different about this iPod? I mean it should work right? I've definitely been able to do it before!

Make sure it's formatted with FAT32, not NTFS.

well it doesn't give you that option when you restore using the ipod utility, but that may well be the problem.
